Happy New Year!

I just wanted to finish out the blog by saying Happy New Year to you all. I hope that 2008 was a year of lessons learned that you will take into 2009. I hope it was a year of knowing yourself, or getting to know yourself, so that you may enjoy yourself and all that you are in 2009.

Most especially, in keeping with the Losing theme, may the knowledge you've gained in 2008 continue into 2009 and help you stay healthy, keep active, and lose (or maintain in my case) the weight you desire to lose.

I have not posted here in a few days. I really dont know why. It just hasn't been the same lately for me. My resolutions for this year include enjoying myself and my family, and unplugging more often. I hope that by unplugging, I can get more active in my personal time by myself and with my kids. I hope to maintain my goal weight, which I'm just over 4lbs from achieving right now.

I do plan on continuing logging my food choices after the holiday is over and life resumes back to normal. I gave my 2 week notice at work yesterday, so I will be trying to find a new job that does not stress me out as much. I eat very differently when I'm stressed and I do not want to continue that habit. Hopefully finding a new job will help a lot with that.

So with that, I bid you, Losin' Together readers and friends farewell and Happy New Year. May this year be everything you need it to be for a successful, healthy, and joyful life.

Blessings!

The end of a chapter

I had not posted this on here yet. I guess I didn't want the finality of it, even though I did post it on my own blog and on DAM. As of January 1st, we will no longer be updating this site. I'm moving my portion of it to my own blog: http://dailybdizzle.blogspot.com and I think Beth is gearing up to go into maintenance on her own diet. But you can check out her blog for updates on that: http://couchconfessional.blogspot.com

I know that not a lot is going to change between Beth and I as we are now. Its "just" a blog. She's still one of my bestest friends. But I guess I feel like this door is closing, its time for change, and I don't deal well with change. lol So I've been feeling kinda down about it. But I will say I'm looking forward to a New Year, a new resolution to get the rest of this off (its slacked this holiday season some with everything else going on).

This blog has been a huge part of our lives since May 12th, 2008, and I'm gonna miss it. I never could have imagined it would get this far, and impact so much. But it really has. I never dreamed that people would be reading it, and keeping tabs on us. But its time to say goodbye to it. We'll be leaving it up online to refer back to as needed.

To all of you who read this, thank you for helping inspire us, posting comments to help motivate us, just knowing people were reading this, was a HUGE incentive to me. So again, thank you and I pray that all of you have a wonderful New Year filled with motivation to hit your own goals, no matter what they may be.

Well, this is my last input/output post on here. Since I'm headin out of town and will be working and then driving all day on New Years Eve, I'm taking the day off of posting. So this is it. Please head over to my other blog after the 1st for continued input posts!!

Here we go. I kept it a low day on purpose, gearing up for this roadtrip.

Afternoon snack of reduced fat Wheat Thins. Dinner was leftover pork chops with some ketchup, instant mashed tatoes and then dessert of a 100 cal pack of choc covered pretzels to end my day at 1226 calories.

Output: a very brisk 30 minute walk at the Galleria, and then 20 minutes of Wii Sports (tennis) last night.

Twas a decent enough day

I made some ok choices...I did have a minor breakdown last night and had a 100 cal pack of something I didn't need...but oh well, thats why I got the 100 cal packs...moderated portions and only 100 cals.

Input: breakfast was oatmeal and an Eating Right nutrition bar. Midmorning snack of Reduced fat wheat thins. Lunch was a Subway 6in ham and cheese on wheat with a bit of light mayo, and a bag of baked lays bbq flavor. Afternoon snack of apple slices and 1% milk. Dinner was grilled pork chops (which we had not had in forever...YUMMY), mac n cheese, green beans and a dessert of a 100 cal pack of choc covered pretzels. Then late last night, I had a 100 cal pack of baked cheetos *sigh* to end my day at 1641 calories.

Output: a 30 minute brisk walk at the Galleria (1.5 milesish), and then 20 minutes of Wii Tennis last night.

A try for a good day...

I went into today really tryin to have a good food choice day. I think I did ok givin what I had to work with.

Input: no breakfast. Lunch was turkey and gravy with rice (I had very moderate portions), plus ranch bean salad, cottage cheese, and a crescent roll with a smidge of Country Crock. Snack was a Little Debbie tree snack cake. Ok yeah THAT wasn't great, but it was that or fudge. Eeeek...neither was a good option. Dinner was at a friends house and we ordered in pizza, (I chose hamburger over pepperoni, thinkin it'd be less cals...) to end my day at 1580 calories.

Output: well over 30 minutes straight playing tennis on Wii Sports.

A decent day...I guess...

I'm finding it VERY difficult to get out of holiday eating. My choices have not been good, and I have no excuse for it. I'm worried with a roadtrip coming up, but I'm going to really try and buckle down, take healthy snacks, etc. And I'm so ready for January 6th. Holidays to be over, and even though I can't say I look forward to being back at work, the routine of work is AWESOME for my diet.

Input: no breakfast. Lunch was a cheese quesadilla from Taco Bell. No snack. Dinner was a kids grilled cheese and fries from Chilis, with ketchup, and a Sweet Shot (warm cinnamon roll variety) to end my day at 1437 calories. NOT great choices, though I AM staying in calories.

Output: 35 minutes of Wii Sports (includes 15 minutes of heavy duty boxing with knees really bent to work my thighs, and 20 minutes of tennis, switching arms to keep an equal workout and jogging in place through most of it)
